no claim implications so just doing it through insurance who have given it to national windscreens. I've asked for the Pilkington glass since that matches original (I believe) and we'll see what happens!

Had this done today. They were going to use some aftermarket but I requested Pilkington to match original and they didn't argue or charge. The fitters recommended keeping the original seal since it was in good condition and would naturally sit better than trying to get a new one in...

Once the old one was out, I sprayed a bit of ACF50 on any corrosion and then mopped it up before they fitted it back in. We'll see how it goes!

I know that you went through the insurance but do you have any idea of what the cost would have been? Thanks.

I asked the local indy and another company to quote and they were both between 325-350 +VAT to supply and fit. I didn't actually ask them to ensure Pilkington/OE replacement but I suspect they'd do that by default.

Had a frosty morning today and it was incredible to have this functional ... only took a few mins and completely clear. Worth doing! I also gummi pfledged all of the seals in the last couple of days so the doors open easily... far less faff getting going than usual!
