M57 Conversion coolant problem
Hi all,

My M57 doesn't have the coolant in the expansion tank warm up at all and the engine is using oil.

Any ideas?

I would have thought after a long drive the coolant should be hot?

Mine doesn't particularly get hot either but it doesnt concern me.
Turbo seals ? Valve stem seals ? Worn bores or rings ? Mine uses .5l every couple of months. I accept that on a 150k+ mile engine.

Thanks Mo,

I paid ~£24k for "Supply and fit full automatic 6 speed BMW M57 conversion £22,675.00 + VAT
300bhp
Inc. quality used BMW M57 engine (fully serviced at **** –
major overhaul), quality used automatic gearbox, full crate
conversion kit, BMW shifter, airlock, console, upgraded intercooler,
full exhaust, EGR blank and swirl flap delete"

Would like to have thought the engine wouldn't be in the condition it's in.
Plus the airlock for the difflock actuation they hadn't fitted it due to being "unreliable" only heard that after picking the vehicle up. They now have said they are happy to fit at an extra charge.

That's alot of £££ but it does easily add up in parts alone.

Diff lock actuator off air, what's the problem with it? Cheers
