2006 Defender 110 Td5 USW Zermatt Silver
[Wanted] Tent
After years of progressive up graded to get me to a very comfy and luxurious motorhome I apparently need to suffer and go back to being a ground dweller.

Having sold all my kit each time I’ve upgraded I’m now in need of a decent tent

Ideally able to attach to my Defender,
I want to be able to stand up in it
It MUST be water proof
Ideally have a two layer setup so I don’t suffer with condensation.
One person setup (wife won’t go back to ground dwelling)

What have you got that you want to sell
Or what can I buy that will work for me.

Thanks
Andy.

Could be persuaded to sell :vgc, Canvas and Tent 3m x 3m bow tent £300
Bought from John Muirden who imported from South Africa. Not for wimps it weighs 30kg and the steel bow frame requires some strength and dexterity to erect, but is waterproof, has a heavy duty sewn in groundsheet, separate porch and fly sheet/cap. Mozzie proof screens on door and windows. Will withstand just about any weather

Thanks for the replies

OZ tents, and Jet tents don’t appear to be available anymore as they were my first thought. I can find one of each used on eBay, but in my opinion they are overpriced for used,, unknown, secondhand items, and not near to where I live.

I initially wanted a Kyham tent, as I had one before that was fantastic, but another company that no longer exists.

Awnings, and event shelter aren’t ideal as they are single skin, so suffer a lot with condensation and awnings aren’t sealed against the vehicle so not great for a Welsh camping trip that I have coming up.

I have looked at some fishing tents, but nothing has excited me enough to buy yet.

3 x 3 x 2.1 m high plenty of standing room
heavy duty ripstop fabric
Separate partial flysheet/awning as per photo below
sprung steel bow-frame
mozzie nets on door and 3 x windows, heavy duty sewn in groundsheet
model Gemsbok, maker Canvas and Tent https://bushtecoriginals.com/canvas_systems/
only selling because going pop-top, like I said - it is 30kg and the steel frame requires a certain amount of strength and dexterity - though I usually put it up on my own, sleeps three with ease, never leaked - last used in August 2024 and easily shrugged off a French summer storm
