TD5 Windscreen Wipers
Any advice appreciated.

I am working away and my wife has reported the windscreen wipers simply stopped and now will not work. She did not hear anything snapping or snagging, or a motor grinding to a halt [she tells me...].

She has checked the fuse and all seems to be fine.
Power is still going from the stalk to trigger the water jet - it is just the wiping is not happening.

Could this be that the wipers are simply seized?
Relay gone?
Earth?
Or the Motor?

Am having a bad run with the vehicle at the moment - new top end before Christmas, prop dropped off the other week - starting to look at Dacias enviously ...

Thank you for any suggestions.

First step is to jiggle manually each wiper to see if one is seized, then report back.

Wiper failures are common on Defenders due to the value-engineered 1960s technology and generally straightforward to diagnose and fix.

As posted… start there. Another usual suspect is the park switch and or fuse. Check both as well.
