184 and mt82
Fitted one to mine a while back now. 2 years or so. My advice if using the synchro conversion kit is don't use the supplied friction plate, the centres don't last. Cheers

Which clutch kit was this? Have heard a lot of the transit conversions with the mt82 have had problems with the clutch centres pulling out. Can remember if it was the syncro clutches and what has been done about it now

Blimey James, that's rum !

At the end of the day Jon, whilst it is cost effective to reuse an Mt82 or R380 in a conversion, if you use a matching BMW gearbox, you can use a BMW clutch and have a transmission that is rated to the output of the engine.

Why would a solid centre clutch be necessary? Surely a conventional sprung centre clutch would be fine and would dampen vibration and lash. Which is maybe what led to the premature failure.
