2015 Defender Key Programming
My son has a 2015 Puma and is trying to get a replacement remote fob programmed (the one with two buttons and the chrome strip). Timpsons said they could supply an OEM fob and programme it for £220. However, after obtaining the fob, the guy was unable to programme it and said that it needed to be done by a Landrover dealer and offered the key for £130. My son phoned our local LR dealer who said that they would need the vehicle for a day and that it would be £200 + VAT per hour and couldn't say how long it would take but could take the whole day. Does anyone know where I can get the fob programmed at a reasonable price? I am in Cheltenham. My son already has one working fob, this is for a spare.
Thanks all.

A member close by with a Nanocom can do it , and I expect they would do for free.

See page 10 of the guide https://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/downloads/preview/alm-ecu

Is there anyone with a Nanocom local to Cheltenham or I can travel a reasonable distance if necessary.

Best they come to you, as when adding a new fob you have to re add all the existing fobs. It’s unlikely that things will go wrong as it's a simple process, however if something did go wrong then at least you are at home with the vehicle.

I can do them, there’s a body of water between us though. What about remote key .co.uk or Ian ant IRB developments. Any local specialist should be able to do it very easy.

Thanks Nick. I've had a look on the Remotekey website and they can't do post 2014 fobs with the chrome strip. I'll email IRB to see if they can help.

Remote key do an all in one key incorporating the fob, I don't like separate fobs

They'll send you a gizmo to pair your new fob to the car, very easy to do

Ian will look after you, excellent service

Hi Kev, I've emailed remote key but their website advises that they can't do the later fobs.
