So I have the LR Warn 9.5 cti kit which so far I have only run the main cables to the battery box and now need to connect the winch power to the battery using the cut off solenoid kit. What is the best way to connect the heavy winch cables to the battery? Andy

so I just found this picture on here which is what I am trying to replicate. So I can bolt the negative onto the chassis? The Land Rover fitting instruction had me a bit confused.

I would strongly recommend that you replace the rather feeble and unsatisfactory original equipment battery terminal connectors with decent ones such as these:
https://pbautoelectrics.co.uk/shop/auto-ma...mm-bt461p/ The standard connectors are unbelievably unsatisfactory in almost every respect and it beats me why Land-Rover has for decades used them. |

I guess many will have done it differently but what I did was..
Main winch positive direct to cut off solenoid then a cable to the battery + Main winch earth is run to the bolt under the seatbox that picks up the chassis to battery earth. The battery terminals are the above post style and I re crimped the existing cables. I didn't want a hole in the seatbox for an old style isolator switch, and the Tin can solenoids are IMO not man enough for winching loads. So i stuck a Su280 Albright in there and wired a dash switch. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest |
