You mean as the rpm drop down to idle speed it seems to dip and then pick up again?
The Td5 cuts all fuel on over run and then picks up the fuel again at idle speed. This can sound a little its hesitating, but once you get used to it you don't notice it, assuming obviously it does not stall. Personally I quite like to sound as it really enforces the 'I am now idling and oh by the way - it's rocksteady' feeling compared to say petrol engines where the rpms just drop off with no distinctive moment where it's idling. |

no, I mean once it reaches back to idle speed and after 1-2 seconds I can feel the hesitation/vibration. Then it comes back to steady idle right away. Resembles a little misfire in one or two consecutive injection. Puma 110" SW

check if the ECU receives road speed information.
contrary to what people believe that only the disco uses road speed info, the defender also uses it. From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. At 125k for a XS 110 csw and you get to own it only for 10yrs! Please find me a good reason to stay on this island. |
