best Full poly bush kit for a 2005 110 TD5 recommendations
Hi all. Got a serious death wobble with the steering at 50 mph last week (damn near pulled the steering wheel out of my hand) and I know it's not the damper as it was recently replaced so it's time to replace all the bushes. I'm going to do front and rear at the same time. Can I ask what full kit you guys recommend please.

Thanks in advance, Stuart 05 Alive tuned TD5 110 Defender

Given there does not seem to be a source of the original quality Metalastic bushes the go to bushes now seem to be Superpro poly bushes. See https://gwynlewis4x4.co.uk/product-categor...0-110-130/

Death wobble more likely to be caused by swivel pin preload.... As for bushes, I've just fitted SuperPro from Gwyn Lewis.... Very happy

+1 for Super Pro!

On reassembly use masses of MilSpec / Dinitrol / copper slip on every bolt / fixing and bracket, make it easier in 80k to do it again!

Another thing to consider is the state of your wheel bearings too as this can also cause wheel wobble, do you know when they were last changed ?

Changed about 5 years ago. I'm not doing the work this time so I'll have those checked as well when it's with the guy doing the work. Thumbs Up 05 Alive tuned TD5 110 Defender

Superpro all the way, plus a lot easier to fit DIY.

Personally on a TD5 era 110, I found I only needed new bolts on the upper A Arm bushes, the rest were OK to re-use, although the rear trailing arm on the axle were bloody tight. A day or two before you start, go round with a wire brush and some WD40/Plusgas and clean up the threads on all the bolts, will make it a lot easier.

Went through this last year on my 2000 MY 110 CSW. It was a few things. Suggest you check, panhard rod bushings first and confirm condition of radius arm bushings. Then check steering column u-joints, and finally swivel ball bearing and preload and overall condition. Lastly check front tire balance.

It turned out to be panhard rod, radius arm and u-joints which all added up to horrible wobble.
I chose genuine rubber bushings for my replacements. They lasted 23 years the first time. 🤷‍♂️

Superpro - blue

I have had them on my 90 for over 10 yrs on the equator and they are still doing great.
recently the 90 has migrated to face her 3rd canadian winter and is still holding up nice.

Fit that once and pretty much forget about it.

when i changed out the trailing arm rubber bushes the last time, they pretty much became oval at the hole. the radius arm rubber bush has worn till i got a conical tyre. From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. At 125k for a XS 110 csw and you get to own it only for 10yrs! Please find me a good reason to stay on this island.

Excellent information everyone, thank you all for taking the time to post, I'll be having all of your suggestions looked at as I've had the Landy 11 years and of all the cars I have its the one car I'll have until I can no longer climb into it.
