Milltek or Stock Exhaust?
Hi All,

I'm starting my search for a 110 V8 Carpathian Edition to replace my 110 D250 X-Dynamic HSE (which has been amazing over the past 3½ years and 43,000 miles) Cool but I'm keen to know if the Milltek exhaust system is worth having Confused

I know it's all subjective and very personal but it does appear to sound great and better than the stock system however, can you drive it in a more sedate "normal" mode? Embarassed

I think the stock exhaust only get better when you put it in dynamic mode, does the same apply to the Milltek system or is just louder and then very loud in Dynamic mode Laughing

Any advice appreciated, other than those on economy Rolling Eyes

Cheers,

Just ordered the V8 myself and waiting to collect it in the next day or 2

I’ve looked at the quick Silver and Miltek, from what I can gather you have fitted a control button/activation (phone app) which will operate the valves in the exhaust, closed neighbour friendly, open Twisted Evil
I hoping hear one of them in the flesh to make my mind up 2023 Defender L663 V8

The stock exhaust is good but looking at the YouTube vids an after market would be a great upgrade!

I haven’t heard the Quicksilver but my neighbour has the Miltek and it sounds great. The welding also looks superb. WARNING.

Nice. I think Miltek also have the carbon option but he went for titanium instead. WARNING.

I have a Milltek on a 90 Carpathian Its a great sounding exhaust but I would strongly suggest you get it fitted with a authorized dealer for the warranty as I'm on my 3rd silencer due to the something coming adrift inside and rattling

Just fitted Milltek resonated system to my 90 V8. Definitely louder than standard but not crazy. In Dynamic mode you can hear it being more throatier, but in normal mode it seems to have more pops while idle revving. Went for the titanium tips as I preferred them rather than having 4 polished pipes out back.

Also ordered the silencer bypass pipes (non-resonated) in case this wasn't 'loud' enough.. will decide in a couple of months whether to add them on or not.

ps. I've noticed a slight droning around 1,500rpm in highest gear (probably around 50-55mph), not a big deal though.

Quick vid (excuse the filth, weather is Evil or Very Mad right now). Dynamic mode on around 20secs in.

ps. if you're planning on taking the oem one home (without cutting it), bear in mind it is long! I loaded it in a 130 and it just about fit.

Thanks! Thumbs Up Rules here in the US may be different to the UK so I can't comment!

Also over here no GPF on our cars so sound will probably be slightly different?
