Auto AC Buttons

I have always wondered why are there two auto buttons on the climate controls at the front. Does anyone know?

It turns on the automatic climate control. When Auto is activated, the fan speed and air distribution are controlled automatically and set to the desired temperature. A/C is also on to prevent the windows from fogging up, even if the heat is on.

I always use Auto climate in the summer, and in the winter, I use manual control until the cabin warms up and then set it to the desired temperature and activate auto climate. ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ ๐ƒ๐ž๐Ÿ๐ž๐ง๐๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ ๐’ ๐๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ (Pangea Green over Acorn/Lunar)

I can only presume one for driver and one for passenger but donโ€™t really see the point of that. MY23 D250 Defender 110 X-Dynamic SE, Carpathian Grey, 7 Seat, Electric Towbar

Also the AC button has 2 functions. Does max cold AC too if you hold it down iirc
You can just see the MAX above the AC in the photo above. That illuminates when activated. MY25 90 D350 X-Dynamic HSE in Silicon Silver and coil sprung

Itโ€™s bugged me since I picked up my car a few months ago! The iGUIDE marks them both as โ€œ17โ€ and so they both do exactly the same as each other; Iโ€™d love to know why they chose to put two rather than just one! 2025MY Defender 90 D250 X-Dynamic HSE | Santorini Black with Black Pack

Itโ€™s for the climate control for driver and passenger independently, also if you have rear climate it will be a 4 zone climate control.

Ah right! Iโ€™m in the car on my own most of the time so have the temperatures synced to each other, so pressing the Auto buttons have both always done the same - that explains why! 2025MY Defender 90 D250 X-Dynamic HSE | Santorini Black with Black Pack
