First Winter Camp of 2025
Found a great spot in the North Pennines using the Off Grid Web Site (https://www.offgridcamp.co.uk/campsites/) for our first winter camp of 2025.

Very cold at night, -4 degrees but very toasty with the new Planar Heater installed in the PopTop. Wood burner in the big awning kept us warm whilst the beer and wine flowed Very Happy .

The location was fantastic and involved a bit of rough track and snow filled fields to get there but well worth it.

Really beautiful Smile
I did few times overnights in minus temperatures, no heating but proper sleeping bag (But not much cooking etc).
Could you please let me know what was attached to 110? (backdoor tent). I'm looking for similar extension.

Likewise, what make is the small rear awning?
We currently use an Oztent RV2 on the rear of our Dormobile but at times could do with something more compact.

Yes..... Its only £25 per year and there are a lot of great spots. Once you find one you like you contact the land owner direct. I've booked quite a few through it now and all have been really good.

Its the Explorer awning from Mick at Pennine Overland (https://www.lrbits.co.uk/awnings-and-tarps/explorer-awning-tent-for-land-rover-defender-and-series-1)

I had it fitted at the same time as he fitted the PopTop. Its a great bit of kit and the roof rack it comes with means you can easily attach side awnings too. I have a 270 on one side and a shower cube on the other.

I've tested it in some fairly high winds and rain and it holds up really well, head to wind it means you can keep it pitched even in quite strong winds when a side awning would have to be taken down.

Thanks a lot for details.
Quite unfortunate, it looks like it cannot be mounted to factory roof rack. Overall interesting solution and design for roof rack.

Thanks for the info on the rear awning. I have looked at that one in the past but no good to me as I
can only fit roofrack over the cab area.
I will keep looking🙂
