Thanks.

As mentioned in my original post the offset is +5mm. I cannot find it stamped anywhere on the wheel but have measured from the mounting plate to the back outer rim of the wheel and to the front outer rim of the wheel. 105mm and 100mm respectively. Have I done this correctly?. I guess this is a 7" wheel?.

On full lock the BFG 235's have clearance of 15mm between the tread edge and the trailing arms, in which case +15mm offset would have been more appropriate. Still some clearance re trailing arms and the whole tyre would be within the arches.

As you can tell this is not my area of expertees but I guess other makes of tyres for the same size eg 235 have different tread widths which as it is the edge of the tread that catches the trailing arms would require different offset.

Do you know what offset the factory wheels and the Wolf wheels have?

Thanks

Mike

I’ve run various wheels tyres and offsets, which have protruded past the arches from a few mm to a good 2” and never had an issue but by far and away the best thing regardless of offset tyres etc to keep the car clean is fit a set of gwyn Lewis extended front mudflaps with out rigger shields. I’ve done it on every defender I’ve owned. On the rear of the 110 I currently have I also dirt defenders coupled with gwyns rear mudflap kit and mud shields which I have mounted the mudflaps slightly wider which keep the rear clean as well.

Factory wolfs are et20, however you can get aftermarket at et0. 235/85r16, 265/75r16 are a touch wider and 255/85r16 are taller and all suit the wolf wheel well and will sit in the arch. Lock stops can be adjusted easily, you don’t need to change the wheel to sort the clearance on the radius arm. Et0 aftermarket wolfs with adjusted lock stops will give a better turning circle, particularly on a 110

No pretty easy to do, they come with a decent set of instructions and didn’t take long, maybe an hour or so as I’ve done a few sets now, if you take your time a morning should do it. It’s quicker and easier with the front wheels off but do able if you just turn to full lock. Hardest part is fitting the mud shield up behind the inner wing and lining it up.

Interesting, I might look into those sometime as keeping the muck and mud out has lots of positives.
