Early 110 Locks, Slam or Non-Slam difference
Hello Everyone,

Im new but have been reading some time with the forum already.
Finnaly bought my own 110 and started upgrading and fixing stuff. (Early 110 1984 LHD)

Currently looking at my door situation with the locks.
I have 3 different keys to open 4 of the 5 locks.
But the barrels wil be ordered later,

First i have to decide if i am going to keep the internal opening Latch (MUC1216/MUC1217).
On the LH side the lock was already changed for some series type lock without a locking barrel and they removed all the linkages.

On the RH they fitted a Military door (i think) and reconnected the linkages but as the MUC1217 was replaced by an MUC3656 they broke the linkages. (as the sliding part is in a different spot).
But the Lock itself seems good.

Now i want to buy a new lock for LH, but there are 2 options,
Slam type and Non-Slam type.
Paddock had pictures of both.
MUC1032 vs MUC1034

Anyone know the difference/prefered version?
Both are anti burst if i am correct.

Or is the general advice to ditch the mechanism (which i like) and fir Series 3 locks? (395038)

When I did mine I fitted anti burst series hinges and sold the original ones for quite a bit of money, as they’re rare. I wasn’t bothered about originality ( it was bought for me to modify and was missing quite a lot of parts too ) also I couldn’t find any door cards for them, but got a set of tough plastic ones for a series three to fit nicely. 1983 110 automatic OM606

Okay thanks or your input,

You got a picture of the doorcards?

Ive found 3 versions so far.
SP4s4 TR253A https://www.sp-4x4.com/ProductDetails.asp?...p;CartID=2
Mud UK MUD-0040 https://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/half-door-trim
Britpart DA1642 https://www.britpart.com/parts/seats-and-t...ims/da1642

The SP and britpart look the same though.
And i've gotten 1 of those with my defender when I bought it.
Don't know which one.

Just fitted the back doorlock to the RH side to test with this internal handle.
Cant get the plate to fit over it without bending a lot, so have to figure that out. (Heard someone removed the top to twist the plate over the handle.)

Bodged doorcard RH side. (With old/original lock)

Also Found in my parts catalog that the reardoor contains an MUC1030 which says Non-Slam
