Assuming it passed it's MOT it's ok for the right price. It's the state of the rear cross member I would be worried about

The Defender is a 2.4 TDCi with very low mileage (under 10,000) but is over £35,000 due to the low mileage.
The rear crossmember looks perfect from the back. Doesn't look to have been repainted recently |

Looks excessive to me...
Last time I saw similar ( as in concentrated around the rear axle) was my mate who owned a Jetski on the South Coast and used his Defender to sea launch it... There are so many, so much better I would walk away Clemmo Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow.... Actual chassis looks ok - lots of rust on the side step brackets , I'd be wondering why so dirty / corroded underneath for such a low mileage, boat launching as mentioned above, used on a farm shoot and not cleaned afterwards?
10,000 x 1 mile journeys? I would walk away at 35K, possibly worth a punt at 22K, spend a few k on it then its a keeper. HTH Keith |

If it’s that black one you linked on eBay, then i wouldn’t touch it. Between the chassis needing treatment ASAP and the body work issues. You’ll be £10k into chassis treatment and a body respray before you even start on the mechanicals.
The dash miles mean nothing if it’s been dipping boats for 10,000 miles 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS. |

Not been rustproofed, but does look like surface rust that’s lighter.
I’d be looking at the internals more, ideal for a borescope. But if there was corrosion inside then I’d avoid. To put right what is there, with paint and then corrosion protection, or just corrosion protection would be a good £600. Mine's done nearly thirty times the mileage and looks better than that!
That vehicle is a perfect example of why a low mileage is not in itself justification for a stupid price. |

Yours I’d buy, but the one for sale I wouldn’t, unless the price reflected the poor condition, which in my opinion it doesn’t. I’d prefer a high mileage one which wasn’t rotten. 1983 110 automatic OM606 |
