Puma ignition barrel
Does anyone know if you can have the existing ignition barrel repaired to match existing keys or buy a new ignition barrel to suit existing key please.

AFAIK, you have to replace the whole barrel and then you get new keys with it.

At least that's what happened when they replaced the barrel in my Puma. --

As Naks say. You get a kit with the ignition lock, keys and two barrels for the doors. I have one waiting for me to get around. It is the shear screws that is my headache, and since I don't HAVE to do it, I don't want to start something that turns into a weekend of work.

Just double checking. Are you replacing the ignition barrel because the barrel is worn and not working correctly, or because the electrical switch element is not working. Just checking as you can get the switch part separately.

On the barrel front, worth giving a dealer a call to see if they can match a new barrel with your key number. Noting you will need a key number but they “should “ be able to find that from your vin if you don’t have the key number.

If you do have to get a new barrel with new key I think a kit that includes side and rear door lock barrel replacements is only a little more than just the ignition barrel. That way you can change all. A pain but leaves you with needing just one key.

Some/all Pumas have different length door barrels to what is commonly available.
