Lowfuel warning light
What triggers the low fuel warning light when the fuel gets low? 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali
2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu
2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai

On a Tdi it is either triggered by a switch on the sender float in the tank, or on some vehicles there is a little comparator circuit behind the dash (literally wrapped in the loom) which turns it on when the signal reaches a certain point.

You’ll be able to tell which you have by the number of wires on your fuel tank sender. If it’s three then the sender float is controlling it, if only two then it’s probably the little circuit thing.
