Seat Heating / Eco Mode
I still find it funny that these two topics are part of a defender discussion.. BUT..

    - A few updates ago, ECO driving mode used to turn off the seat heating if it were on. And you couldn't turn Seat heating on whilst in Eco mode. (annoying)
    - More recently, seat heating remained on regardless of ECO Mode. (nice!)
    - Now, it seems you can turn on seat heating when IN eco mode, but if you have the seats on before you change to ECO mode, it turns off the seat heating. But you can turn it back on again and keep it in eco mode. (mildly annoying).

I assume this is in someway deliberate logic, but I am failing to accept that seat heating needs to be switched off by Eco mode.. Has anyone noticed the same?

It's a very minor gripe, but generally in the cold, I put the seats on immediately and I leave the car in comfort mode to help build heat a little while later I switch to ECO - which turns off the seats which brings this annoyance.

The funny thing about Eco mode in my opinion is that the mpg is worse than comfort!
You need to work the engine and gas pedal harder when in eco.
Never used since.

Turning off high consumption items such as heated seats and heated screen will give a slight improvement in fuel economy.

lf l set my D250 to "ECO" it turns these off, if they are on. lt also softens the accelerator response. Economy improves by about 2mpg.

Once in ECO the seat heaters etc can be turned back on if needed.

I have definitely found ECO mode works - delivering several MPG better in stop-start London traffic

My gripe is how an update has made the user experience worse.

It doesn't turn off the air conditioning, radio, or DRLs. So why choose to deliberately disadvantage my buttocks over other conveniences!?

I should just mention on a related point: Bumping into the Christmas Land Rover meet-up in London on Sunday, and seeing folks turning their nose up at my L663 whilst they shivered to death under rolled up Canvas Hoods.. I turned the seat heating up a notch! Laughing
