I bought a generic version copy of the factory ladder. Got it from Amazon. Install kit was basically the same. Hardware matched the factory instructions.
The one I bought even came with a new piece of trim in black that was predrilled for the bottom of the window mounting. Took about 20 minutes to do the entire install. The lock is good and the latching mechanism works the same as well. So far I've bought a ladder, side gear box, tire cover, and a copy of the factory rack in all black. All were factory knockoffs, and I have no complaints about any of it and I've spent 1/2 what the factory options would have cost. |

I’ve fitted an aftermarket ladder to my vehicle before, and while the price is tempting, I’d recommend doing a bit of research on the quality before jumping in. I found one on eBay that was a fraction of the cost, but the fit wasn’t as perfect as I’d hoped. That said, it still works well enough for getting into the bed or roof. If you go the aftermarket route, just make sure the material feels sturdy and the mounting system is secure. I also use a step ladder from Astro Lift for other tasks around the house, and it's been great.
