I've not come across this problem before, is it a 300 Tdi door, if so would it help you if i was to take my door card of and have a look for you, if so i can do it this weekend ? 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Thanks but it’s a TD5. I am going to replace all of my door actuators with eBay ones, and bypass the AS10 being removed. I don’t think the position of that arm will matter when the door is closed.

That is the lock isn’t it? Goes up to the door button inside.

No. The rod is one I added. I thought at first that internally it connects to the same mechanism as the door opening latch, but the door stays closed with it up.
