Dash Screws, AlliSport + Nakatanenga, Protection Plates

Hi All!

For the first topic of inquiry, I had my AC serviced after 3 years and when I got the truck back, the AC guys put the screws back on the wrong places! Basically, I will have to renew my steering cowls including screws as the ones they put in just fell out when I hit a pot hole. The small screws on the side of the dash hardly bite now as they fitted the large tori screws in there! What part numbers are the receiving end of the end dash so I can use the proper small screws again? Need new small screws too as I only got about a few of them back! I told the owner of the AC place about the issue and told him that they should be careful next time. He told me this was noted. Next time they do this, I'm charging him for all the parts I need to replace.

Next thing on the list, planning to replace my current Mantec plastic job with a Nakatanenga raised air intake SN4 that goes into the upper wing. This being the case, anyone know the hose diameter this kit uses? Would anyone know if this kit will play nice with the AlliSport waterproof airbox?

Now evaluating the protection plates available to the Puma. You have galvanized steel and you also have thick aluminum. Which is better for long term, durable protection? The only arguments I've heard on this is that steel is heavier that aluminum. Is it really that big of a deal? When it comes to durability, haven't heard much. On the weight argument, I'm planning to eventually put on a roll cage so there's that. Does this mean that the truck will now sink in mud, sand, and volcanic ash? Get stuck in riverbeds? Refuse to move under stock truck power?

Information, feedback, and advice greatly appreciated as I'm finalizing the items I need to do a major overhaul and upgrade to my truck.

Had a few email back and forth with AlliSport and Nakatanenga. Apparently the Nakatanenga hose from their RAI is 80mm and goes to the adapter from 80mm to 90mm which then plugs into the airbox.

AlliSport on the other hand, uses an 89mm flexible hose that goes to a reducer that shrinks the 89mm to 76mm to fit to their waterproof airbox.

Looks like it will be a chore to link up the two. Or can I stick with Nakatanenga's 80mm hose? is the 9mm difference going to be an issue?

Hi All!

The dash screws on the side that screw onto the A-pillar, the six (?) small ones, what do they screw into? Need to replace those and the actual screws. Anyone have the part numbers?

I believe that the six screws are FYP500570. They're thread-forming screws and as I recall they screw into a plastic insert in the A-pillar, but I cannot find any insert anywhere in the electronic parts catalogue. I'd have to dismantle my dash to be sure (and I'd rather not do that).

Re. your earlier question, I would have thought that is should be fairly straightforward to seal a Nak 80mm hose directly to an Allisport 76mm spigot, the difference is not great and it wouldn't be hard to wrap the spigot with duct tap if necessary to make it larger.
