300tdi alarm/immobiliser
On a couple of occasions I've gone to start my car and it's triggered the alarm even though the alarm had not been set. This is followed by a rapid clicking coming from the right hand side of the instrument cluster for several minutes that seems to fade in and out.
No amout of pressing the buttons on the fob will deactivate the alarm and any attempt to start will activate the sounder & lights ect.
If left for some time then I can go start the car as normal.
So firstly does anyone have an idea what's going on.
Secondly is there a solution other than waiting it out as I'm already late for work now haha.
Thirdly can I bypass/remove the whole system.?
I understand if people are reluctant to answer the third one on an open discussion so feel free to message me if needed.

Thanks.

Mine did this random thing where I decided to get a 200 after, because of the fking alarm/immobiliser.

The 10A fuse on the right is the horn. You take this out and it stops going AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Mine would do something weird where it would blow the 5A fuse. I put a 7.5A one in and it was fine after.

My problem was that the starter would randomly stop working. I wired the immobiliser out by looking at the "spider thing" on ebay. The fatter wires are the starter ones!

After I had removed the immobiliser, it still had a mind of it's own. The alarm is like it's brain. Everything goes to it. The sensor thing above your head and the door switches. There's the bonnet switch as well.

Get the 10A fuse out to shut it up for a start. Sounds fobby to me. NEVER TOUCH THE BUTTONS!!!!!

I'd get the link out plug to replace the immobiliser. The thing is just a magic box of sht.

Have a chat with Paul Brown of Technozen, they test and if required repair 10AS units

Cheers for the replies guys.
After my original post I went back out to have another look at what was going on. Tried to start it and same scenario as before. So decided to disconnect the battery, I then noticed that the immobiliser box had been disconnected/removed. Just 4 bolts where it used to be. Whilst I was at it I also changed the battery in the fob.
Went back out a couple of hours later and reconnected the battery, there were a couple of clicks n whizzy noises! Went to start the car and alarm sound with horn, flashing lights, immobiliser icon on dash ect.
Pressed the button on the fob and it was disarmed and I was able to start and drive.
But now I'm more confused. But whilst it's working I'll go with that haha and investigate more when it's a bit warmer.
