to his credit Yan bought it back off her, although at a couple of thousand less than the £12,000 she'd paid for it.

l am not sure what happened to it after that.

I’m not convinced losing £2000 is “ to his credit”… only to his own bank balance.

Like others I’m amazed he stays in business. Read his eBay ads… they all read the same!

He's far from the worst vehicle dealer l've encountered, the scam engine reconditioners on another LR forum spring to mind. For over a decade they've been collecting customers vehicles including one guy's £20,000 Discovery 4
And basically he's never seen it again. These guys are still trading so what hope is there for us. At least Yanthelandyman supplies vehicles that actually exist, and you can view the vehicle before purchase.

l would always say that if you don't know what you are doing, get an independent inspection before parting with your cash for an old Land Rover. lt costs a couple of hundred but could save you thousands.

I would stay well clear of this firm in Bolton.

He is very untrustworthy. The vechicles he sells are not what he says they are.

STAY WELL CLEAR AND DO NOT SPEND A PENNY WITH THIS TERRIBLE FIRM

Quite a damning statement to make in your first post?

Do you want to share with us what your experience has been like? Did you buy a Defender from him?

Jim

First and last post by the looks of it.

Yan is still trading with several vehicles on Ebay at any one time. Anyone on here dealt with him since this thread ended in 2022?

l have to say l was tempted to bid on the Puma 110 XS he was selling recently. Although l would never pay any money until l had inspected the vehicle in daylight. Take a knowledgeable friend with you.

I had a 90 off him last year, not my current one, only got rid as needed to change to a 110, but ended up going back to a 90 anyway! Miss the old girl she was a cracker and had a pleasant experience dealing with Jan, landy was as described! Actually better than I was hoping, when I had it MOT’d tester complimented the condition, but take it from previous posts I was a lucky one! He did however fail to tell me it had no logbook until I was there collecting it, late in the evening and I had to drive home with no tax then apply for a logbook and tax it at post office the day after..

I would definitely buy another from him but I would probably spend a little more time checking it over after reading through this thread! Thanks Jim.
