Heating stopped and slider loose...
Hi,

New to the forum..Hi!
Used many of the how-tos in the past and recently to replace the wiper park switch.

Long time 90 owner, but a new puma 2.4 owner. Heating has worked fine, sliders a little stiff, but the other day the heater fan slider went loose and there is no 'blow' Big Cry

Im guessing maybe a cable has gone? Ive had a look at some of the threads on here and am thinking my first move is to remove the console and have a look behind?

Struggling to find photos/instructions of whats normal and what to look out for, also read about cables under the bonnet?
Any pointers gratefully received as currently sat with hot waterbottle buddy commuting!

The heater fan slider is not a cable arrangement, it is a four-position sliding switch built into the control panel. Sadly it is an extremely poorly designed and poorly engineered sliding switch. My original one melted and welded itself immobile, and I rebuilt the assembly using parts from a second-hand donor panel.

Perhaps unsurprisingly it is (or at least used to be) a shockingly expensive part as well.
