That does sound like VCV if there are no DTCs suggesting otherwise.

Are you able to look at rail pressure and boost pressure while it's doing this..
It does sound like it's over fuelling..
Does the vcv valve default to open and when powered it limits fuel..or the other way round.. I always thought it defaulted open, but I've been looking at one recently off a ford connect i think it was..it appears to need power to open..
Stuck open would give you high rail pressure at low demand i suspect and give you the symptoms you are describing..

Try checking the Turbo actuator too, light lube the pivots in case of sticking.

If the VCV is sticking, it might be slightly over fuelling, and more likely if revving it which isn’t ideal from cold anyway too much, but it tends to under fuel more.

Good luck tomorrow, but as mentioned no DTC’s are produced from the VCV even if it’s in a dire state.

Blackwolf - Sounds about the sort of figure that LR would go for, I think you mentioned it before.

Perhaps the throttle works the way it does as a kind of safety measure, alongside the anti stall as well when that’s active. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

I’ll give an update when it’s been on a reader and swapped the vcv. Thanks
