110 sliding window, lower felt seal - CZL000030
Afternoon all,

Is anyone able to confirm whether the sliding window, lower felt seal - CZL000030 comes with the cutouts that match the drain holes on the frame?

Just replaced my seals, but it's bugging me that the replacement ones don't have the cutouts.

Just about to get all the windows tinted, hence changing the seals beforehand, but I dont want this to turn into a water trap causing issues later on.

It's a 2014

Cheers!

I am also looking at replacing my lower felts and from the research I have done, only the genuine JLR ones have it, which are currently out of stock. I am told they are coming back.

Were they genuine JLR ones that you have?

I replaced mine with Woolies window channel stuff that is discussed here at length but found a lot more water collected as it formed a decent seal but the water had nowhere to go.

Ended up giving my factory felt liners a deep cleaning and once dry they were good enough to put back in. I've now become a bit of a professional at replacing the lowers Laughing

Could you punch some holes where the factory channels should be?

Unfortunately, they're not genuine.

As you rightly pointed out, the genuine are on back order. It took 3 orders just to get these, as every time I placed an order, the email would come the next day to say no stock!

I have cut slots into the felt to align with the drain holes, but the felt does seem to have lost some of its integrity.

The old ones were well past their best, completely deteriorated and out of shape.

The holes, factory or not, will do that. I was toying with the idea of buying aftermarket ones and just putting in smaller round holes to let the water drain.

I've got a back in stock notification request with JLR and will send a note once I hear they are if you like.

Any hints and tips on how to do this? It's on my list of things to do.

I have used the woolies channel stuff a couple of times and just cut a section out the side where the drain holes are.

They are a lot easier than you think. The lower felt I found was a lot easier and one you do it once, you will find the second one will only take a few mins. The video below helped me get it sorted.

For anyone looking to order these, I would hold off.

I just got two new felts sent to me but they are a fraction of the length and clearly the wrong part. They have been on back order for quite some time so it's not clear what they asked the supplier for.

Unless of course I have it all wrong and the part number CZL000030 isn't for the lower window channel.

Hi in the linked video he mentions part no CZL000020, but this may be as he is replacing the felt at the top of the window in his demonstration?
Is the method to replace the bottom felt the same as the top as I am contemplating having a go at this but do not want to remove the whole windows to do it if at all possible.

Very odd and as far as I'm aware, you have ordered the correct seal with that part number.

Typical🙄

Ive never changed the top ones, but yes i believe thats the correct part number.

As far as I'm aware, the procedure is basically the same as the lower ones.

I've reached out to JLR and they confirmed I ordered the right part, for the lower felt. I am now waiting for them to get back to me if they can supply the correct part.

Interestingly, I noticed that, at least on mine, there there is a third piece of felt in the one corner and I am wondering if the supplier was sent specs for that hence the short felt being sent to me. Said corner part isn't available though so it's not clear if that is what happened. I'll try and get a pic up if it's of interest.
