***URGENT BRAKE ISSUE***
Please check your brake pipes where they pass the turbo/exhaust heat shield. The pipes on The Red Dwarf had come unclipped and had rubbed against the heat shield which resulted in a pipe rupture and brake failure Shocked I would also recommend that if you can, cable tie the pipes back so they don’t spring out of their clips. Can you please report here if your pipes were un-clipped, loose or touching the heat shield? Hopefully it’s just my car that’s suffered.
Its difficult to take pictures of the exact place but I am sure you will get the jist from these pics.
Oh don’t check if your engine hot as you may burn your pinky’s.

Andrew

I think that the clip is just one potential issue...

On mine the pipe was in the clip, however the brake pipe was still touching the heat shield! This was because the pipe and fitting with the brake housing had been pushed down, all i did was to turn (the fitting and thus the pipe) anti clockwise and now the pipe now sits above the shield instead of touching it.

The pipe is however also touching the pipe heat shield by the exspansion bottle just visible in your picture ! Is that a problem?

Thanks for raising this issue. Bow down

In theory nothing should loosely touch anything. If things are touching they should be fixed together. If you know what I mean. I think that made sense. Embarassed

Thanks for the tip-off. Mine was fine, but still cable tied anyway.
