What is this connector for ?

Hi

I have been looking to wire in DRLs to my Puma. I know I need an ignition live, an earth/negative and a feed from the side lights to turn-off the DRLs when the side or headlights are in use.

I had a poke around the engine bay and found this connector fitted with a plug and un-used. It was mid-way along the left-hand side of the engine bay (in line with the air intake), with two wires, one black and one white. Happily it is ignition wired.

I would appreciate help on two questions:

1/ before I use this connector, does anyone happen to know what it was supposed to be used for (just trying to ensure it will support the current and not blow out a fuse) ?
2/ can anyone advise what the connector type / description is, as I'd rather use the proper connector that simply cut the existing one off ?

Many thanks in advance

That's the engine breather heater pipe connector, only fitted on extreme cold weather specification.

The white wire is a 5A fused ignition supply.

See here, it's "Riscaldatore tubo di sfiato motore" top middle Smile
