For the cost, roughly £20 (ish) on either Halfords or Amazon then if unsure then buy new.

At the risk of antagonizing the Safety Elfs:

In France I find disposal of any form of special waste extremely hard. I save up my oils and then have to pay a garage to dispose of it - and I admit that I will sneak in the occasional jug of coolant in the hope they have disposal facilities for that. In the land of bland cars working on your own car if frowned upon and actively discouraged. I recall when I lived in Norway, where the disposal facilities we excellent, the Political Green Brigade proposed to forbid the sale of engine oil and stop the collection, until it became clear people would just buy their oil in Sweden and then probably dump their old oil in a bush. Also garages were notoriously expensive and overbooked so basically that idea was dropped. |
