Between Entrecasteaux and Salernes

The photo doesn’t do justice to the descent. Huge 1m holes gouged out in the road by recent storm. Defender coped but it was heart in mouth time.

6th September 2024 Northside of the Parpaillon Tunnel in the French Alpes Maritimes. Unfortunately the tunnel was closed since 12 of July due to heavy rain which blocks the Southside Entrance

7th September on my way to the Witch Village of Triora Italy. Apple Maps showed me the shortest way from the French-Italian Border: end of Tarmac, very narrow stony rocky way, tenth of off-road bikers only 2 cars on the track one behind me and one coming in my direction. A Young couple in an old VW California. coming in my direction, didn't pass well, they scratched my left side mirror and nearly broke off the ladder.

When I placed my takeout order, the restaurant didn't mention that they were currently underwater. This happens once a year in this town where I grew up (Oxford Maryland) due to the King Tides. The restaurant is a nice Chesapeake Bay waterfront place that my family used to go to frequently when we lived there.

So yeah, this lake is the parking lot - and thats not rain water, its salt water. I made sure as soon as I got back to the house were we staying at to break out the hose and thoroughly wash the wheels, rotors, calipers, and underbody.
