Yes they do, unless you spray the seam with a clear wax based rustproofing product before the rust starts, and then they don't.

Yes l did, to a local LR Independent dealer. But l've got a brand new set of five steelies with 100 miles on them, with the standard fitment Michelin tyres.
TPMS sensors included (l've actually tested them on my Defender and the vehicle connected with them after about a mile)
Also have the centre caps.

l bought them as spares for my 90 Commercial but l've changed to more off road oriented tyres.
Open to reasonable offers.

Just dropped off my white steels at the body shop. The white of which I was very fond of in the last few days was bothering me. Don’t know why but I had enough. They’ll be black, Matt.
Swooped them to my 20” again and I have realised how shi… the drive is with 18”! A bit comfier, not much more though. The rest is terrible: steering precision, braking and roll is all in favour of the 20”…

That's interesting. LR do an alloy in the style of the steel wheels but it's 20".

Might be another option.

Maybe the difference is down to the brand? Michelin vs Pirelli? Same width for 18” and 20”.
I also noted the Michelin on 18” was a much more quiet tyre. Going back to Pirelli and 20” didn’t really noticed much difference.
However today, I think I have changed my mind again Smile
The look of the 18” seems quite right.
Lift the car to off road and the 18” look proper bad a.ss .
With the 20” I had to double check if the setting was on off road.
I might find peace with 18” and black.
However on 20” the drive on Motorway feels more composed and precise.
I might keep the 18” daily, swop them to 20” when travelling far distance m.

How can it make a difference to the way it drives if the wheel diameter is the same?

Primary the unsprung weight of the wheel makes the difference.
The steelies are heavy. No Mud flaps for my 90.!

Materials and weight make a difference to unsprung weight and stiffness.

Try riding a bike with the same size wheels and tyres on a bike but swap between alloy and carbon wheel sets. The difference is huge as is the variation between manufactures. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

Yes they weigh a ton, carried them up and down the stairs at the house more times than I care to remember. proper wheels Very Happy
