Driving through standing water - nearside behavior.
I've noticed that when I dip a nearside, front wheel in to some 'deepish' standing water, at any reasonable speed, I get something akin to a bow wave coming over the front end and high up on to the windscreen, and way more than if I do the same with other vehicles, where it's hardly noticable.

This happens with both my wife's 110, and my 90. Both have the classic mudflaps fitted and I'm wondering if that has something to do with it.

Has anyone else experienced this, and / or is this just an odd quirk of the design, possibly only caused if mudflaps are in-situ?

Cheers.

It’s the design. The Discovery 3-4 are also similar in throwing the water up towards the windscreen. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

Yes, I noticed it soon after getting my 90. It's not due to the mudflaps behind the wheel but the solution can be seen in rally cars where deep flaps are fitted in front of the wheel for wet conditions. 23.5MY 90 V8 Carpathian grey

My old 2005 Defender used to do this. lf you went through standing water on the near side at any speed, a great wave of water would come over the front and hit the screen.
