Itโs not possible to take a pic without moving a load of interior trim.

Subwoofer is under the driver's seat (passenger for RHD). According to the workshop manual, all Defenders come with a subwoofer, including those without the Meridian sound, as it is used for the fake engine noise. I have the Meridian system and have attached a picture of the subwoofer below. You can see it by removing the cover under the seat. Looks like it is just bolted down with four bolts.

Yes; fake engine noise, or as JLR calls it "Active Sound Design."
Click image to enlarge JLR has been doing it since the Ingenium engines have come out, so 2016 for the I4 and 2019 for the I6. Loads of other manufacturers do it, too. BMW was the one to really push it and others have followed suit. I've been in loads of cars with it, so I knew it was fake on my first test drive before I ordered mine. Most people wouldn't know its fake, but roll the windows down, floor it and you barely hear the engine because the wind noise is louder than the fake engine noise. ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ (Pangea Green over Acorn/Lunar) ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ง ๐ (Dolomite Silver over Black/Bordeaux Red) ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐ (Aintree Green over Vintage Tan/Ebony) - Gone ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐.๐ (Ipanema Sand over Almond/Arabica) - Gone |

You can turn it off by using a GAP tool or the Pathfinder software. ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ (Pangea Green over Acorn/Lunar)

I don't know the codes on the GAP tool. And no, you can't make it sound like the V8. ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ (Pangea Green over Acorn/Lunar)
