The existing motor was fine so just reused it.
The genuine JLR wheel boxes and drive cable came from https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275341535654 Could possibly get them cheaper elsewhere but it was convenient... Advice... A second pair of hands is handy to act as the gofer! It's really not that bad, I think it took me around 2.5 hours start to finish having never done it before. Just have to remove some trim panels such as the radio surround, a load of screws and some of the heater/blower pipework behind the dash > 110 XS Double Cab |

The aluminium fairlead/hawse has been looking more worn than warn recently after the lacquer chipped/peeled and it corroded leaving it
So replaced with a black anodized version to tidy up the front end. Just need to dust off the cobwebs now ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge If anybody is after the old one/can revive it drop me a message ![]() Click image to enlarge > 110 XS Double Cab |

I recently sprang a fuel leak when brimming the tank - the fuel filler vent hose had split.
Both fuel filler neck and vent hose replaced with genuine JLR parts. Using the hacksaw blade method I was able to replace all the pipework with the tank in situ which was great news as the tank is currently full so I didn't want to drop it but I wanted the job done pronto as I am doing some mileage on the weekend ![]() I also have a YRM aluminium tank cradle to fit but need to run the tank down a bit/reduce the weight before I tackle it You can see the split in the old breather vent hose. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge > 110 XS Double Cab Last edited by hank on 8th Oct 2024 10:35am. Also after five years the decat dream is over and I have re-catted. I was fed up of the smell!
The final straw being an aggravated motorcyclist shouting at me to "sort out your car" whilst giving me the 'smelly' gesture ![]() Observations: slightly muted exhaust note and less turbo noise/dump. Perhaps marginally less throttle response as the turbo takes a moment longer to spool up? But definitely the right decision for me. Thanks to Zed for selling me a nice condition low mile catalytic converter ![]() Fitting these is a pig. But it's done now ![]() Click image to enlarge > 110 XS Double Cab |

How did you find the breather pipe change with the tank in place? I think it’ll be on the list for me to do at some point. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

Simple. Half an hour job from start to finish including jacking up and removing the rear wheel

It’s a job I’ll add to the list then.
Also, was your decat just a standard cat pipe with the cat internals removed? I have been tempted - but I’ll probably only go as far as a centre box delete. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS. |

Nice work mate. Good to meet you and the dog. Nice Landy too, purposeful but very tidy. At some point I must come up for a South Wales meet. WARNING.

Ali express single din CarPlay arrived today. Unbelievable value for £25 odd.
Not quite as smooth to operate as my BMW unit but perfectly acceptable. Simple to install. Would recommend ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge > 110 XS Double Cab |

Finally found time to fit my aluminium YRM tank cradle.
Had not been looking forward to this job and was trying to wait for a time when the fuel level was low/empty but whenever the tank was low I was busy so I just had to get on with it with a full tank in the end. Actually turned out to be an easy job with the help of some timber props to keep the fuel tank in place ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge > 110 XS Double Cab |

Nice work mate. I’ve been putting off doing that job for a while now but that doesn’t sound too bad. WARNING.
