So thought I had found the holy grail of internal side storage that required no drilling only to realise on arrival that had no other option.......
Having exhausted any other avenues we set to work on a (basic) solution and now have some initial straps that hopefully will work OK and not add any other issues....... Trial fit and then off to powder coating...... Click image to enlarge |

A little more tinkering to tidy up a few niggles.........
Firstly remade a support bracket for the fire extinguisher mount that lost its original location after the Alpine Amp install (its also secured with a webbing strap for added security) Click image to enlarge Next small job was to tidy up the OMP wheel centre as the original couln't be used due to the Optimal boss meaning the unsightly column nut was on show Click image to enlarge small favour from my friendly engineer and a neat nylon cap is now done...... Securing brackets for the side storage now powder coated and fully installed, need to install some rubber between the rear door cage / guard uprights and the side storage due to a very slight resonance but other than that all good......

Wow, hadn’t realised this had never been updated in so long but not done much due to a family illness and various other associated life things taking over……
Click image to enlarge Recently taken the Wife’s gin palace down to the big smoke for a pre-arranged trip to see Zagato and let him work his magic to keep the truck in good order, just clicked over 15K on the way down and did a round trip of around 700miles and circa 22mpg which seemed decent enough…. Spent a few days playing on trains to see the various Tourist sites and eating well

not done anything of late but been finalising Front & Rear Gwyn Lewis extra mud shield fitment for hopefully some added protection (not that it often gets used!!)
might even be having a trip out this weekend to the Borders!! |
