Feels like the diff is grabbing? - Opinions please
Any insight appreciated.

2.2 Puma, 60k miles, when changing gear I have a strange occurrence.

Accelerate, press the clutch, change gear, on releasing the clutch I have what feels like, and the best explanation I can give, is that the diff is grabbing, there is a small decrease in speed and I get a yelping noise, that sounds like diff plates, but it may not be.

It isnt present at very low speeds only when accelerating to get up to open road speed

Has anyone experienced this? Normal? Or not? Thoughts?

Is it engine speed related or road speed?

Yelping won't be a diff, more like turbo exhaust gasket!

Hard acceleration? Cheers

Great question on the engine or road speed, its engine speed, and it starts under moderate acceleration, and there is a dip in performance..

Its not a whistling noise, and resembles to my ear a similar noise to the LSD's I have, however I think your right!

More info please Thumbs Up

Engine speed so engine related not axle.

Turbo manifold gasket. Cheers

Difficult to change? - Nuts on studs or bolts?

Is switching the hardware to Ti to ensure no future corrosion a done thing?
