The obvious answer in that case is anywhere other than Paddocks!
There are many rubbish unbranded and/or counterfeit Denso VCVs around and it is quite common for these to be defective from the box. I've bought all mine over the years (at least three now) from my local Ford main dealer and never had a problem with them, other than the fact that every five years/100k miles or so they fail and have to be replaced. If you have water or dirt in the tank they will fail within hours, so check that the tank and filter is clean. |

Click image to enlarge Ah ok will try some main dealers and other suppliers, Does £100 price difference between main dealer (ford or land rover genuine) and places such as BAS and LR parts for a denso mean anything? The 2 from paddocks came with a britpart genuine part sticker, however underneath there seems to be a torn PSA sticker, so I'm guessing is supplied by britpart but is a genuine psa part? I would not buy a VCV from Britpart whatever the sticker.
The £100 difference is the very high price of assurance plus the cost of the main dealer subcontracted supply chain. |
