l wouldn't worry too much. Mine has done all the updates and l've never noticed any improvements to anything.
For instance on one of the updates it was supposed to stop the radio from coming on after you leave the vehicle, but it still occurrs. l've never actually had any software or Pivi Pro issues since l bought the vehicle in November 2022 except for the radio occasionally starting up after l exit the vehicle (it goes off when l lock it) Never had the black screen some have reported for instance. |

Personally, I would reach out to the dealer and ask why you haven’t received any updates. There have been numerous bug fixes and improvements, not just to the infotainment but to the drivetrain and vehicle operation in general. The Defender has a double digit number of modules that can be updated OTA.

Ours updated yesterday. FWIW, the update failed numerous times in our garage despite previous updates going fine. I found a post on one of the JLR forums that indicated that weak cell service can stop an update from installing, even with good wifi. We initiated the update while out to brunch yesterday, and it finally installed. Not sure that will help if you haven't even gotten notice of the update, but thought I would mention it.

Mine updated to 4.2.0 about a month ago, it took many (20+) attempts, over the course of a week or more, I also had low battery warnings at about the same time, I'm not sure what started first. Having the car on charge whilst preforming the OTA update didn't help, ever since it updated, no more battery warnings??? MY23.5 SE Defender

Yup mine failed at first attempt. It’s the first time I’ve had a SOTA update fail to install. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Hi mine updated overnight. My wife got a message on the screen yesterday after a drive out saying an update was available so I put the car on charge using a CTEK when she got back, and parked near to our WiFi Router and later on I set it to update and left the car on charge overnight. Next day it said the update was installed sucesfully.

4.2.0 here also yesterday, update without any problems at all, in the middle of the street …while having a coffee... I understand that the update should never have any problems, since at that moment the download, with a good quality connection, have already occurred previously.Update OK, and curious coincidence, and the Remote app update, too yesterday…improvements, in both cases totally unnoticed, of course! 😏

I put the car on charge because I had problems with an earlier update which I solved by charging up the battery until fully charged and kept it on charge overnight. This is what I have done with mobile phones and Laptops. Some of these devices have even flagged up a message to connect to a external power supply / Batttery charger as they will not install as there is a risk of a serious problem if the battery fails or loses power during the install. This makes sense as sometimes major updates can use a lot of energy and drain the battery. So I use the same principal on my car. It is the same as connecting the car to a battery charger of another battery or an externat constant supply when using the GAP IID tool. Some devices refuse to update if they measure a voltage below a certain level as a safety reason to avoid bricking the device, I assume Landrover are clever enough to do this with the Defender as well. |

Mine seems to have updated itself overnight.
Nothing had visibly changed on the vehicle. Taylor Swift was still playing on Spotify from the day before, when l got back in the Defender. |
