I have a couple of these to sell, but it would be nice to call it by the correct name before posting in the for sale section...

It's a 12S aux/supplemental 7 pin socket.

And now they’ve all been updated to new style all in one sockets, which don’t match many trailers, and thus you then need an adaptor.
And some trailers are LED, some typical incandescent light bulb units and boards which doesn’t always work properly with towing vehicle. ![]() ![]() So now there is backward capability adapts needed, plus the added issue of different lighting types. ![]() Personally I’d have thought it would have made sense to have had all in one anyway, not separate 12N and 12S. Had that problem the other week. Hired a trailer which had a 13 pin plug, but I only have a 7 pin socket on the Land Rover with no adpator available at the time.

Hi all
I never tow but my 90 has these 2 sockets fitted. So the black socket would be used for towing and the white one to supply auxiliary power to whatever I was towing? Is that correct? ![]() Click image to enlarge Jim |

Yes, in practice only caravans use the supplementary socket.
What a ridiculous place to fit the sockets! |

Yes.... It does seem a strange place..
Maybe the chap who fitted them had a bad back and didn't like bending down? ![]() Jim |
