Does not relate to your new pride and joy but here is a recall by Ford which includes the Transit Connect.

753 miles is absolutely fantastic range!

Are you finding it comfortable to be in doing the mileage you do? 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

in terms of clocking up motorway miles I find it one of (if not the) most comfortable vehicle I've owned.
empty around town its a little crashy and it does feel like the front isn't terribly well planted - improves when you're carrying a bit of weight.

just done 123.4 miles from local fill up to Hammersmith - got there showing 123.4 miles, 56.7mpg and 763 miles to empty Mr. Green
this is sitting at 54 mph on the motorway - so yes going slowly but goes to show what you can achieve. Thumbs Up

while it was 'only' 53.5mpg, I've just managed 816 miles on tank Mr. Green Thumbs Up
I think I'm right in saying its a 65 ltr tank but managed to get 67 ltrs in Very Happy

That's got to be motorway services prices? Shocked

The tank on a later 110 (TD5 onwards?) is nominally 75 litres. Darren

evening all Thumbs Up

hopefully this doesn't break any rules albeit it may come close Whistle

this transit custom of mine - its not up for sale (hence why it hopefully doesn't break any rules) but it will be coming up for sale in the next 1 - 3 months - at least thats my best guess.

basically I've been that impressed with it I've ordered one of the new ones with a very similar spec.

This one is now at 40k miles and is in exceptionally good condition (even if I say so myself Mr. Green ).
At present I've no idea what its worth but as dates on delivery of the new one become clear I'll be looking to see what its worth and I will of course be looking to achieve something better than what the dealer will be offering in part ex.

Please feel free to register any interest you may have in buying and share thoughts on best place/way of selling when the time comes.

perhaps an indication of condition would be to note over 1000s of miles I'm averaging 49.3mpg and there's still plenty of grip left on the front tyres (rears look like new Mr. Green Thumbs Up ) and not a single mark on the wheels

an idea of spec - upgrade sat nav, blind spot, reverse camera, inverter, rear power in boot, zenon headlights, dual battery etc.

Very Happy
its the 2 ltr ecoblue (at least thats what I think they are).
its the 185 ps version which for whatever reason was available for only a relatively short time - now the most powerful version is 170ps. I suspect for emission reasons?

I can only assume the 'most have issues' relates to the wet cam belts which are on the forums known to fail before the circa 120k miles service life. on the forums there is reference to them failing premature - however I believe the consensus is replace at 80k as there appears to be no records of them failing sooner. I know someone whos at very nearly 150k miles and on the original - bear in mind the number of sales it could be the failure rates are incredibly low but you get to hear of the minorities that do fail?

personally the only failing with the engine is that it appears to have a very low compression ration giving very little in the way of engine braking - but I suspect that is to make the engine smoother ie when turning off? Thumbs Up

might see the new van mid July......but not holding my breath.
while I know its not going to help my mpg I've decided to go with the AWD version Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Not ticked every box on the 'extras' list, but most of them Very Happy

rather looking forward to it - I get the impression it'll be one of the first......but suspect that means I'm a 'Guinea pig' ?

just a heads-up in case anyone is interested.
I should be swapping my van for new one circa 25th Sept.
last resort will be a PX on the new one. clearly if I can get more than that through a private sale or Motorway etc I will of course.
let me know if there's any interest here or if you can recommend the best option. As of yet I don't know what the PX value so I can't suggest what I'm looking for. I guess I'll be looking for >£500 than the PX or I'll simply PX with it being the easiest solution. Thumbs Up

the new van has landed and I'm waiting to see what mpg I can get.
although its auto and awd its looking promising with what appears to be a much longer top gear courtesy of the 8 speed box. Mr. Green
just need to shift a MTB and sankey trailer to help replenish funds after all this spending Sad
