[SOLD] Optimill 30mm spacers, black, hardly used

For sale - one set of four Optimill hub-centric wheel spacers, black finish, with wheel nuts.

These are hardly used and apart from the odd smear of copper grease are virtually as new. In terms of quality they are as good as you can buy, Optimill and Rakeway being the leaders in the quality stakes.

RRP from Optimill for these at present is £240 but this set can become yours for £180 plus P&P at cost unless collected from the Poole/Wimborne area.

Blackwolf, do you by any chance have before/after photos of them fitted? Just curious to know how they change the stance of the DC. Any info on wheel/tyre size you were running would also be interesting. And why have you stopped using them? Ta. Monsieur Le Grenadier

I probably have some photos, I'll try to have a hunt later.

When I bought my Defender it had 285/75 Kumho KL-71 mud tyres on the standard Boost rims. This was great until you arrived at a sharp bend or, worse, a roundabout, since the ability to navigate such was extremely limited. Orbiting a planet was fine, orbiting a roundabout not so. In order to effect an improvement I fitted 30mm spacers and roundabouts ceased to be a problem, however at the merest thought of mud the outside of the vehicle became plastered (and sometimes the inside too, if a window was slightly open). MudStuff Dirt D-Fenders mitigated this somewhat.

Eventually I changed from the 285/75 KL71s to 255/85 BFG KM2s (later KM3s) and fitted these to zero-offset Blindos, so the offset adjustment provided by the spacers was not required.

285/75 tyres on Boosts with 30mm spacers works fine (the self-righteous Fun Police will tell you that the tyres are wider than should be fitted to Boosts though) but is not a pleasant combination to drive, since every road defect has an affect on the steering, and the vehicle is constantly filthy. 255/85 KM3s on Blindos is in my book the perfect combination (however you can't fit tyre chains without body damage).
