2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 HT Epsom Green

Hardtop sides plastic bushing and fitment

Hi
I’m trying to fit the sides to my 110 hardtop but I’m not sure how the 4 corner double sided studs go. Should they fit into the plastic bushing or is the plastic bushing just to centralise the stud in the pipes in the cappings?
The lower washer should be of a larger diameter than the pipe? As from what I can see the recommended m8 washer in the diagram appears to fit inside the pipe so should it compress the plastic bushing?
