While you can repair a broken engine, you never know what impact the failure might have had on the engine and unless you go clinical with a full dismantle, cleaning and condition verification of every critical component. This is expensive.

Depending on the value of the car, intended use etc it might be better to install a good used engine, ideally from an decent accident vehicle with a known engine condition. Alternatively you can look at rebuild engines from a reputable maker.
