I had this recently, a code reader would be a great help to find the problem. My problem was the power wire to the ABS pump which had worn through as it was touching the back of the brake servo, ground out and blown the fuse under the drivers seat. New fuse and wire repair it was all sorted. 2008 Defender 110 XS CSW

Check your rear brake lights are all working - if not, that’ll be your Rev hang problem. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

Failed clutch switch, you can buy a connector 2 pole JPT and bridge it.
If it is that, it will fix it straight away or you can get a new clutch switch. There should be a DTC logged though, but won’t illuminate the MIL. It creates a sort of power surge just when put in gear, it is very stange and feels like it is self reving. This is based on what I’ve had happen before, and matches the symptoms you mentioned. |
