First, thank you BW and DS.
Second, i wouldn’t have had a scooby if that had happened to me. Third, I’d have been ragging it imagining I had a wide-bore exhaust fitted. Maybe even a V8 Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Poor work instructions. If wires had been looped around ferrite before termination all would have stayed in place. Once terminated needs additional parts to secure the core and they will not have been on BOM. Poor execution by sub contractor and poor QA by Land Rover. It may be that PPAP part was OK but other operators did not follow the same plan. 1995 Defender 110 CSW

What does the Ferrite ring do? Dampen EMF or similar? (I assume.)
Thanks for the heads up. I shall check mine sometime. A tiny bit of light oil on the turbo actuator pivot points is also useful I find but that’s a different issue. The trouble is with the Puma motor and harness is there is a lot of vibration and movement present even without rough terrain. Poor quality roads just add to it even more ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

At least that was fairly benign... About 6 months ago, the 2.5mm power wire feeding the bbus shorted to the inner wing on mine, a 2.5mm wire that is fused at 50A....
What followed was a lost of smoke, much charred wiring and very nearly a fire in the engine bay. All at about 1am, and only noticed as I happened to be working nights and all my lights powered themselves up in the carpark! |

Does it really need configuration on a 2.4?
