Coat head gasket?
I've always coated head gaskets with Permatex Spray-Tack since my days working on Peugeot 504s (stopped minor weeping). No problems so far. Just checking in as I don't have direct experience with the TDCI engines. Thoughts?

I have never heard or read that the seal itself causes problems. In this respect, you can use this standard product from the box imho.
The WSM mentiones a selection of the cylinder-head gasket (thickness) based on the measured piston protrusion. That's probably the most important thing.
Edit: And, as always, use new screws.
