iPod - can you connect and play?
Hi Folks

So I picked up my X Dynamic of Friday and enjoyed the drive home with music playing on the DAB radio but being of a slightly older age I still use iPods for music.

Tried plugging in 2 iPods, a 16gb nano and an original classic unit but neither would do anything other than charge up.

Looked at the online handbook and it would seem they are not supported and wondered if this was correct and is there anything I can do?

Cheers in advance Thumbs Up Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free

If you have an iPhone you could transfer your music to this and then use Apple car play which is supported.

I'm kinda old fashioned and like my phone (which is an iphone 12 pro) to be a phone although they are so much more I know and have never had music on any of them which is why I have the ipods etc with Apple music Whistle Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free

Apple don't give a sh*t about old-fashioned - if you must have an apple device for your music just copy it on to another apple device that you could make calls on and use that instead Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I doubt it's supported unfortunately. I'm the same, and still have an iPod Classic loaded with a bunch of music. Gradually transferring over to Hi-Res Walkman now for around the house. That device did work on a 2016 Land Rover via bluetooth, but was pointless having such a good source being compressed and going through Bluetooth. So I just used an iPod Touch for the vehicle, which can still run iOS 14, and use that purely for music. You might be better off buying an iPhone SE2 to just use for media as it has a much better battery life, and more powerful processor. Defender 90 HSE 250D 2022MY - Gave up after two failed orders

Same as you Jasperoony, I still used an 80gb classic with ITunes (over 7000 tracks) on my laptop. Then I changed it when I got my Discovery 5.

I now have an iPhone 11 and have a Spotify account. They have millions of tracks, any thing you listen to they probably have.

You can stream or download to your phone. No faffing about with down loading to iPod, plus you have everything on 1 device.

I’m of that age too but I have all my Microsoft 365 stuff on my phone as well.

The transition wasn’t to stressful, mind you I do have help and tech support from my twenty something sons Cheers Simon

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you
