HVO-experience
Now that 100% HVO (Hydrated vegetable oil) is available as a diesel substitute in my area, I have filled up with it and am very enthusiastic about the smooth running and lower consumption. It could be a very good choice for euro 5 diesel, as it apparently burns with significantly less soot and thus protects the particulate filter.

Cannot recall his username, but he used to do massive mileage with a 90 for work on Ladybird cranes. His 90 got crashed and replacement was a D4 commercial. I know he was running that with HVO, as even the late D4 commercial were not euro6.

Does HVO have a similar effect to adding 2 stroke oil to your fuel?

I know the 2 stroke subject has been done to death, it’s just that I don’t know much about HVO.

Whilst you can mix HVO with normal diesel and biodiesel it's best (and more environmentally friendly) to run HVO on its own. See suppliers website below which answers a lot of questions about HVO:-

I've been running Hvo the last 3or4 months now in 2.4 defender, daily driver.
Runs cleaner and smoother No noticeable lack of power and no stinky start up from cold, only negative from me is price and availability.
