Spare wheel cover
110 on its way. Spare wheel cover genuine or copy? What has everyone else opted for?

geta Genuine wheel cover. The one shown above was a special that stopped the cover from turning on the wheel, most annoying.[/img]

I went with the genuine cover, I’m thinking about getting it colour coded, just to give it a refresh. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

I decided to take delivery without a spare wheel cover and wait and see.

After almost 5 months ownership I am happy without so will not be ordering one - easy to keep the wheel clean and like the look. Tony

The main purpose of the cover is to keep the sun, actually daylight, off the rubber. UV degrades the tyre over time, both in terms of surface cracking and structural damage

do you protect the four wheels in use from UV?, no, so why worry about the spare!

I'll look at soft options available in the UK.
Agree I would like to protect the tyre, but I'll never get round to rotating the wheel.

l rejected the spare wheel cover that was fitted to mine when l bought it new (l hadn't specified it on the order)

The price was just under £500! And l couldn't negotiate a penny off the price of the cover.

l am happy with the spare wheel on show, it's only a steel wheel and they are almost free on Ebay.
