Online data pack (Workaround)?
Wondered if anyone can assist, as the two sims in the vehicle are embedded and on our online data pack is about to expire, within PIVI Pro there is an option to connect the vehicle to an external Wifi source (say mobile hotspot) can anyone advise if this would still permit the Spotify / Weather apps etc to continue working without the online data pack? It seems crazy to spend £120 per year £190 for two just to use these two apps. I appreciate that spotify can be used via car play etc however there is huge difference in audio quality in comparison.

I think the remote start, flash and beep and eventually the remote lock/unlock are also affected. I’m sure a Mifi unit would suffice. I’ll give it a go and report back once I’ve worked out if I can disable the embedded system. 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black

I posted similar a few weeks ago with the different subscriptions

Theres no bypass. Spotify etc connect direct to JLR servers then to spotify

The remote unlock etc is £60 and thats again a different dedicated sim

Mapping is similar but uses the main data.

I think if the lot was £120 and you could turn on/off features i would be a bit more relaxed but the thing does annoy me.

Especially as mine hasnt been 100% reliable Mike

Disappointing on cost especially when remote lock/unlock does not work and no ETA for being reinstated.

For me being able to remote lock is one of the best features but only had benefit for a short time since collection in January. Tony

I wonder how much these conveniences are

- a convenience you really appreciate, can't do without and are willing to pay for
- a gimmick which is fun at first but wears off as you are getting snowed under with tech demanding your time and effort
- a nucance you rather not have
- just a revenue source

Having gone through a work meltdown myself, I am consciously avoiding unnecessary complexity in life. Obviously I use tech, but I assess the value before committing. Not sure I have seen all that much value in connected cars.
